In what started a possible Championship Game Preview, it was too much to hope for as the Rockford Rams went into halftime up four touchdowns before eventually putting away the Renegades 40-12.
It wasnt easy sledding for the defending champions for most of the game, the Renegades have a stout front five and the Rams, for the most part, had to put together complete drives instead of quick scores. However, the Rams quarterback was shifty in the pocket and tortured the Renegades with his legs over and over again.
Toward the end of the third quarter and into the fourth, the Renegades had found some success offensively, though the game was well in hand by then. Up until that point, and especially in the first half, the Renegades offense had difficulty in high leverage down situations and they could not get steady traction elsewise. There is hope though that the Renegades take the positives from this game, and could possibly see Rockford again in the playoffs.
Nay, the story today is that the defending champion Rams put a nice stamp on the 2019 season. They are still clearly the team to beat.
